Super Falcons striker and six-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year, Asisat Oshoala, has officially joined the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) team, Bay FC, in the United States. The announcement came through a statement released by Bay FC on Thursday, confirming a transfer deal with FC Barcelona Femení in Spain.
Oshoala, known as the “Agba Baller” (Legendary Footballer) in Yoruba language, signed a two-year deal with Bay FC, with an option to extend the contract by one year, securing her presence until 2027.
The Nigerian international had an impressive five-year stint with FC Barcelona Femeni, where she scored 107 goals in 149 appearances. During her time with the Spanish club, Oshoala clinched multiple UEFA Women’s Champions League titles, Spanish league titles, Spanish Super Cups, and the Copa de la Reina.

Bay FC, established in 2023, is a new addition to the NWSL and represents the Bay Area in San Francisco. The club is the 14th team to join the NWSL, marking a significant move for Oshoala as she embarks on a new chapter in her football career in the United States.
Pending the completion of her P-1 visa and International Transfer Certificate, Oshoala will soon join Bay FC and be added to the roster, occupying an international roster spot.
