Team captain Rasheedat Ajibade scored twice to lead Nigeria’s Super Falcons to a commanding 2-0 victory against Algeria’s national team in their international friendly at the Remo Stars Stadium, Ikenne, on Saturday.
Ajibade’s goals, both netted in the first half, set the Falcons ahead of a determined Algerian squad.
Ajibade’s opener came in the 21st minute when she chased down a long ball and elegantly lobbed it over Algerian goalkeeper Amel Salah. Her second, a stunning long-range strike from over 25 yards out, extended Nigeria’s lead just before halftime.

The Super Falcons and Algeria will face off again for the second leg of their friendly series at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos on October 29.
