In a decisive ruling, Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed Nnamdi Kanu’s plea to reinstate his cancelled bail and to be relocated from Department of State Services (DSS) custody, either to house arrest or prison.
Justice Nyako, in her ruling on Monday, reiterated that Kanu’s previous plea lacked substantial grounds for reconsideration, pointing out his previous violation of bail conditions by fleeing the country.
She also acknowledged the concerns of Kanu’s sureties, who sought to be relieved of their obligations due to inability to ascertain Kanu’s whereabouts.

The judge advised Kanu that his remaining recourse lay in appealing to a higher court, emphasizing the importance of exercising appellate rights.
Contrary to arguments presented by Kanu’s legal team, Justice Nyako clarified that her review of the Supreme Court’s decision found no basis to support the claim that the revocation of Kanu’s bail was improper.
Nnamdi Kanu has consistently refused to participate in Nigerian court proceedings, citing violations of constitutional and international statutes. This ruling adds another legal hurdle to his ongoing legal battles.
