Edo State Deputy Governor Walks Out of Event After Aides Were Denied Entry

Date:

Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, made a dramatic exit from a government event on Monday when his aides were denied entry by security officials at the venue.

Governor Godwin Obaseki had organized a colloquium to mark the 60th anniversary of the Midwest Referendum, held at the Victor Uwaifo Creative Hub on Airport Road, Benin.

During the opening remarks by Governor Obaseki, Deputy Governor Shaibu arrived at the venue accompanied by his aides. However, security personnel stationed at the entrance prevented the aides from joining the event.

A video of the incident quickly spread on social media, showing the interaction between Shaibu and the security operatives. Despite the security personnel’s attempts to explain the situation, Shaibu remained firm in his stance, insisting that his aides should be allowed to accompany him.

In the face of the standoff, Shaibu eventually decided to leave the event, directing his aides to follow him. The incident has drawn attention and sparked discussions online.
