LaPRIGA 2023 receives 109 entries, setting the stage for adjudication, voting

The 8th edition of the Lagos Public Relations Industry Gala and Awards (LaPRIGA) for 2023 has attracted significant attention and participation, receiving 109 entries from diverse stakeholders in the Lagos PR industry by the November 30, 2023, closing date.

Moving ahead, the selection committee is geared up to meticulously evaluate the entries, ensuring strict adherence to the predefined criteria set for each category.

Subsequently, members of the Lagos Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) will exercise their voting rights to choose winners from the shortlisted entries across various categories.

Mrs. Comfort Nwankwo, Chairperson of the Lagos NIPR Chapter, acknowledged the substantial surge in interest and participation in this year’s LaPRIGA awards. Emphasizing this year’s theme as “The Game Changer,” she highlighted the pursuit of campaigns showcasing creativity and significant, transformative impacts.

Chido Nwakama, Chairperson of the Selection Committee, reiterated the committee’s commitment to conducting a thorough and meticulous assessment process. He assured adherence to the specific criteria outlined for each category, ensuring impartial and accurate evaluations.

Mr. Nwakama expressed contentment with the enthusiastic response from the PR community in Lagos State, underscoring the crucial role played by LaPRIGA in acknowledging excellence within the PR profession.

The LaPRIGA awards span various categories, including Best in Technology Public Relations, Best in Public Relations Education, Best in Hospitality PR, Best in Political Communication, Best in Entertainment PR, Best Use of Research & Measurement, among others, honoring excellence across diverse aspects of the PR industry.

Voting by members of the Lagos Chapter is set to commence on December 4, 2023, for the shortlisted entries, culminating on December 10, 2023.

Anticipation surrounds the much-awaited announcement of winners scheduled at the Gala night on Thursday, December 21, 2023, hosted at the prestigious Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos.
