Renowned legal luminary Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, has urged Nigerians to embrace compassion and benevolence as the country grapples with multifaceted challenges.
Speaking at the 27th Scholarship Award Scheme & 4th Empowerment Programme of the Wole Olanipekun Foundation (WOF) in Ikere-Ekiti, Ekiti State, he highlighted the prevailing instability, tension, economic hardship, and security concerns affecting citizens.
Olanipekun emphasized the daunting economic situation faced by a vast majority, with over 70 percent of Nigerians battling poverty. He underscored the need for individuals blessed with resources to demonstrate empathy by extending a helping hand to those in need, aligning with God’s attribute of compassion.
During the event, the WOF awarded scholarships to 250 students spanning secondary school to university and law school levels, empowered 100 youths, granted aid to 100 elderly and widows, and provided assistance to 600 beneficiaries through palliatives.
The Chairman of the Ceremony, Sen. Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, lauded Chief Olanipekun as a revered figure and a beacon of generosity, praising his unwavering commitment to community service and uplifting the lives of others.

Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, commended Olanipekun’s tireless dedication to humanitarian causes, highlighting his readiness to share his blessings with humanity. The governor acknowledged the significance of Olanipekun’s impactful initiatives in the community.
In response, Olanipekun expressed gratitude to all dignitaries present, especially the Ekiti State Governor and Senate Leader, for their support and trust in his mission to make a positive difference in society.
