President Bola Tinubu recently met with several All Progressives’ Congress (APC) governors, including Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, and Governor-Elect Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State, offering guidance and advice to the elected officials.
Commending the governors for their victories in what he described as free, fair, and peaceful elections, President Tinubu stressed the need for them to focus on good governance and the well-being of their states’ residents. He emphasized that being elected meant becoming servants of the people, highlighting the importance of carrying everyone along in governance.
Tinubu emphasized the centrality of addressing the concerns and needs of Nigerians in the governors’ plans and actions. He urged them to prioritize the people’s welfare, stating that doing so would not only make governance easier but also enhance the value of their states while providing opportunities for growth and improved living standards for the masses.
Additionally, Tinubu underscored the importance of fulfilling promises made during campaigns, noting that delivering on these promises would earn the respect and support of the electorate.

Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the National Chairman of the APC, who led the delegation of Governors-Elect and party stalwarts to meet with President Tinubu, lauded the candidates for conducting themselves with integrity during the elections. He also mentioned the party’s concession of defeat in Bayelsa State, affirming the commitment to free, fair, and peaceful electoral processes as directed by the President.
Governor Uzodinma of Imo State conveyed gratitude to President Tinubu for his strong leadership, acknowledging that the successful outcomes of their campaigns were attributed to Tinubu’s exemplary guidance and the positive impact of the government’s economic reforms.
The meeting emphasized the imperative for APC governors to focus on serving the people, delivering on promises, and upholding good governance principles for the betterment of their respective states and the Nigerian populace at large.
