Okoro-Emegha didn’t hold back in his praise, describing Osbourne as a “capable young politician and businessman” who possesses the intellectual depth needed to drive local government development.
“He has the capacity to take Ohaozara to greater heights,” the Chairman remarked, signaling strong party confidence in the candidate.
Addressing the media after obtaining his forms, Osbourne Umahi outlined a vision that balances new energy with a familiar family brand of governance.
while identifying young people as the “backbone of development,” he pledged to make them the centerpiece of his administration.
In a nod to his father’s reputation as the “Infrastructure King” of Ebonyi, Osbourne promised to sustain and expand developmental projects across Ohaozara.
Osbourne’s entry into the race sets the stage for a busy political season in Ebonyi. Here is the timeline for the upcoming transition:
The APC Local Government Primaries will take place on the 25 of January 2026 while the General Local Government Elections takes place in August 2026.
If successful in the January primaries, the Minister’s son will represent the APC in the general election, where he will face candidates from opposition parties in a bid to lead one of the state’s most prominent local government areas.
