Nigeria’s Minister of Sports Development, Sen. John Owan-Enoh, has called on public servants to embrace physical fitness as a means to ensure a more productive and healthy nation. He made this call during the October edition of the monthly keep-fit aerobics exercise, which is part of the preparations for the 2023 Federal Public Service Games (FEPSGA).
The minister expressed the readiness of the ministry to partner with organizations to develop programs that encourage sports development in the country. He emphasized the importance of physical fitness and health education as integral components of a thriving and prosperous nation.

Sen. Owan-Enoh urged the leadership of FEPSGA to advocate for and encourage federal workers to adopt the culture of physical activity and health consciousness. He pointed out that physical fitness not only improves the physical and mental state of individuals but also enhances the productive capacity of workers, aligning with global realities.
The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, represented by Dr. Comfort Adeosun, emphasized the significance of being healthy for optimal productivity. She stressed that an able and healthy workforce is more likely to deliver efficient services to the citizenry.
The President of FEPSG, Mr. Aloku Amebi, highlighted the importance of the monthly exercise in improving physical fitness and the general well-being of all cadres in the Public Service. The October edition marked the conclusion of the keep-fit aerobics exercise for the year as preparations continue for the 2023 annual Public Service Games scheduled for December.
