Bosun Tijani, the Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, underscored the critical necessity of swiftly digitalizing government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) during a meeting of the Nigeria National Council of ICT Heads of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies in Abeokuta on Thursday.
Tijani emphasized that digitalization was imperative not only to enhance the efficiency of governance but also to combat fraudulent activities, bolster Nigeria’s economy, and ensure the continuous alignment of government priorities.
The meeting convened to deliberate on strategies for effectively digitalizing government operations across MDAs and other governmental structures nationwide.
Highlighting the urgent need for ICT infrastructure to facilitate seamless data sharing among government agencies, Tijani unveiled his vision for achieving digitalization, dubbed DPI (Digital Public Infrastructure).
He stressed that data sharing was paramount for enhancing governmental effectiveness, citing its potential to enable real-time tracking of movement between states and facilitate swift responses to support citizens in need.

Tijani rallied stakeholders and program participants to throw their weight behind the innovation, underscoring the importance of collective efforts in realizing true and rapid success.
