Date:

Ondo State Governor, Mr. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has nominated Mr. Olaide Adelami, the former Deputy Clerk of the National Assembly, as the deputy governor of the state.

This announcement follows the recent dismissal of all commissioners and special advisers by the governor.

The Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Ebenezer Adeniyan, issued a statement confirming the nomination of Mr. Olaide Adelami as the new deputy governor. The nomination has been forwarded to the state House of Assembly for approval.

The statement mentioned, “His nomination will be announced by the House of Assembly later today.” Mr. Adelami, who hails from the Owo area of the state, retired from the National Assembly in April 2018.

The approval process by the state House of Assembly is a crucial step before Mr. Adelami assumes the position of deputy governor. The nomination reflects the governor’s decision to fill the vacant deputy governor position, and the House of Assembly will play a key role in determining the confirmation of the appointment.
