Gombe State Governor Orders Immediate Closure of Nightclubs

Date:

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has issued a directive for the immediate closure of all nightclubs, commonly referred to as ‘Gala Houses,’ situated within the state.

This decision comes as a response to numerous complaints from the public regarding ongoing immoral activities, criminal behaviors, and security breaches within these establishments.

In an official statement released on Monday, the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, conveyed the governor’s order. Governor Yahaya has instructed all relevant security agencies to ensure strict adherence to this directive.

The identified Gala Houses, including Jami’a Gidan Wanka on Mile 3 Yola Road, Gombe; White House Theatre (Babban Gida) on New Mile 3 Yola Road, Gombe; Gidan Lokaci General Merchant on Mile 3 Reservoir Road, Gombe; and Farin Gida Entertainment II on Wuro Karal, Kalshingi Road, Gombe, among others, are covered by this order.

The Nigeria Police, Nigeria Civil Defence Corps, and Operation Hattara have been tasked with swiftly deploying their personnel to enforce the directive and ensure strict compliance.

This measure, aimed at curbing immoral and criminal activities, as well as maintaining security within the state, is in line with Governor Yahaya’s commitment to the welfare and safety of Gombe State residents.
