The Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission (KWSIEC) has declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the overwhelming winners of the state’s local government elections, held yesterday.
Announcing the results at the KWSIEC headquarters in Ilorin, Chairman Baba Okanla stated that APC secured victory in all 16 Local Government Area chairmanship positions and claimed all 193 councilorship seats across the state.
Okanla commended the peaceful electoral process and acknowledged the participation of five political parties—APC, APM, PDP, SDP, and Accord. He further praised the commitment of security agencies, ensuring a smooth election with no major incidents.

The results showed a clear dominance by the APC, with significant victories in all local government areas, including Ilorin West, where APC polled 50,128 votes compared to PDP’s 4,202.
“We appreciate the people of Kwara for turning out en masse to exercise their civic rights,” Okanla said, celebrating the peaceful conduct of the elections.
