Civil servants in the employ of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) have expressed their appreciation to the FCT Minister, Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, for the recent announcement of the establishment of the FCT Civil Service Commission.

The workers gathered in a thank-you rally, commending the Minister for his actions and praising President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for giving the presidential approval for the implementation of the FCT Civil Service (Establishment) Act, which had been passed by the National Assembly and signed into law in 2018.

Comrade Korede Matilukoro, President of the Joint Unions Action Committee (JUAC), representing FCTA and FCDA workers, expressed their excitement and happiness. He emphasized the significance of this development for FCTA workers, likening it to the end of the slave trade.

Barrister Wike explained that the implementation of the FCT Civil Service Commission is a demonstration of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda in the FCT. He assured the workers that their hindrance to career development has been removed, and the FCT Civil Service Commission will start operating from the next week.

Additionally, Barrister Wike mentioned the withdrawal of the FCTA from the Treasury Single Account (TSA), which will enable the Administration to utilize its internally generated revenue (IGR) for development.

The Minister hinted that further changes may be coming to the FCT, thanks to President Tinubu’s capacity and political will to bring about positive changes.
