Lagos NIPR unveils 2024 LaPRIGA Theme: “The Shining Stars”

The Lagos State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has officially revealed “The Shining Stars” as the theme for the 2024 edition of the Lagos Public Relations Industry Gala and Awards (LaPRIGA).

This prestigious event, which celebrates excellence in public relations and communication, is set to recognize top professionals and organizations in the industry.

At a press conference held at the NIPR secretariat in Ilupeju, Mrs. Comfort Obot Nwankwo, Chairman of the Lagos NIPR Chapter, emphasized the significance of the theme, stating that it honors communication professionals who have excelled in the rapidly evolving field. “This year’s theme celebrates the brightest minds in our profession, those who have used strategic communication to create lasting impact,” she said.

LaPRIGA 2024 will present awards in various categories, including Best in Technology PR, Crisis Communication, and Public Relations Journalist of the Year, among others. Notably, the event will continue to emphasize the industry’s role in sustainability by featuring the Environment and Sustainability award, reflecting the growing commitment of PR professionals to global environmental efforts.

Mrs. Nwankwo also introduced Mr. Muyiwa Akintunde, a distinguished PR expert, as the Chairman of this year’s selection panel. “Mr. Akintunde’s extensive experience ensures the selection process will maintain the highest standards of integrity and professionalism,” she noted.

Widely regarded as the “Oscars” of the Nigerian communication industry, LaPRIGA 2024 promises to set a new benchmark for excellence while highlighting emerging trends such as the influence of digital media and the importance of corporate social responsibility in PR.
